Travis Nichols sits amongst a pile of pre-packed food. On Nov. 2 Nichols and his wife Lauren DeLand finished the 3,100-mile Continental Divide Trail hiking from Mexico to Canada. DeLand, who suffers from chronic fatigue syndrome, ate carefully. The two packed nuts, seeds, grains and dried vegetables in advance of their trip. They mailed about 30 packages to post offices and hotels along their route.
