Bloomsday runners cross the Post Street Bridge on the edge of Riverfront Park during the 1981 race in Spokane, Washington. It was the fifth year of the 12K race that was quickly becoming the premiere road race in the nation, though there was no money offered to the winners until a year later.

The Post Street Bridge, shown Tuesday, April 14, 2020, is now closed to vehicle traffic because its aging arches need repair, but it is still in use by pedestrians traveling around Riverfront Park in Spokane, Washington. The Bloomsday race now ends on the nearby Monroe Street Bridge. Extensive renovations continue in Riverfront Park.
