Rayanna Tensley, 26, who is getting her masters in social work at EWU, wore an “I can’t breathe” mask during a Black Lives Matter protest in front of City Hall on Monday, June 8, 2020, in Spokane, Wash. “It gives me hope that so many people are out here fighting for black lives,” she said. “I hope someday my nephew can grow up in a safe world.” Tensley added that her nephew is two.
