625 S. Sargent Road, Spokane, WA

Directions: Heading east on E. Appleway Boulevard, the turnoff for Camp Caro is on the right. If you hit Dishman-Mica Highway, you’ve missed it.

Dishman Hills Conservation Area consists of 1,233 acres of county-owned, preserved open space. Together with Dishman Hills Conservancy-owned land and Department of Natural Resources property, more than 1,600 acres of scenic land is available to hikers and bird-watchers. This wilderness-like area is within 5 miles of downtown Spokane and is easily accessible via Camp Caro. The Rocks of Sharon, located inside Dishman Hills, were another reader favorite.
