Rex is King

Back to Historic wall signs

(Mike Prager)

Top flour

Find your way down the alley between Division and Pine streets north of Main Avenue and see this well preserved sign promoting Rex Flour. It is seen below a fading sign for the Rederig Hotel. The front of the building now has a sign calling it the Longbotham. On the east side of the building is another commodity advertisement for Albers Oats. These are remnants of the lodging and night life district that once existed near two main train stations, which were removed for Expo ‘74.
