Mile 1

Back to The Lilac Bloomsday Run: Mile by Mile

Graphic by Molly Quinn

Riverside Ave/Browne’s Addition

Wearing a sweat shirt to stay warm before the race? Donate it to charity by tossing it into a nearby tree, a longstanding race tradition. Mile 1 launches runners and walkers down Riverside Avenue and through the historic Browne’s Addition neighborhood. Patience is a virtue in this stretch: The most congested portion of the course comes in the first half mile.
