(Dan Pelle/The Spokesman-Review)

Longtime brewing buddies Dan Dvorak and Steve Wells opened this brewery - with a focus on organic, homegrown and local ingredients, and sustainable energy practices - in the new Saranac Commons complex in the trendy stretch along Main Avenue east of Division. The space is done up in repurposed brick, with a central table fashioned from a large wooden cable spool and a handmade wood bar. Offerings from the four-barrel brewhouse tend to be malt-forward and sessionable strength-wise, including the signature Irish-style Rees’ Red and an espresso oatmeal stout.
