Summary

Match Burnham scored 22 points and Ryan Thayer added 19 as Liberty overcame a 10-point halftime deficit to defeat Springdale 65-58 Monday night in the opening round of the 2B District 7 tournament at Mt. Spokane High School.

Springdale led 35-25 at the break before Liberty made eight of its next 11 shots, including four 3-pointers, to take a 48-42 lead into the fourth quarter. Clay Fleming added 18 points and a team-high nine rebounds for Liberty.

Josh Anderson was 6 of 10 from 3-point range and finished with 25 points to lead Springdale. Callan Ward added 18 points for the Chargers.

Liberty plays Lind-Ritzville/Sprague at Mt. Spokane, while Springdale faces Davenport at Mead High School in second round games Wednesday night.
