Summary

Kylie Smith and Zoe Clark had back-to-back, two-out RBI singles in the top of the seventh inning to give the visiting Vikings the lead and a 5-4 victory over the Timberwolves. CdA (18-3 overall) completed a 12-0 Inland Empire League season. LC fell to 17-5, 8-4, with four losses to CdA. Hailey Jackson hit a three-run homer to center field in the first inning, and Dakota Wilson hit a home run to center to lead off the fifth to give Lake City a 4-1 lead. Winning pitcher Breana Burke retired seven of the last eight batters she faced as the Vikings made their late rally. Lake City starter Jordyn McCracken held CdA to two singles through six innings, but an infield error to open the sixth allowed the Vikings to trim the deficit to 4-3, keyed by Abby Howard's RBI single. LC's Kimberly Cook went 3 for 3 with a double. The teams advance to the 4A Region I tournament, which begins Tuesday at CdA.
