Othello shut down Cheney 1-0 on their home field during a State 2A first-round match on Wednesday night. Cheney had several chances to score; including a shot by Ian Schimandle that went out wide, and a header off of a corner kick by Micah Weller. The lone goal was a chip shot over Cheney's keeper Kam Galm. Hugo Martinez crossed to Kristian Herrera who put it in to the top left corner of the net.
Othello will host Toppenish, who beat Pullman in the first round, on Saturday.
