Summary

Host West Valley held off East Valley 17-15 Friday night in a battle of cross-town rivals.

Cody Sherwood put the Knights ahead in the first quarter with a 67-yard gallop, but the Eagles responded, with Austin Lee hitting Tevin Duke for a 47-yard strike and then rushing one in from four yards out.

Cruz Bale hit what turned out to be the game-winning field goal in the third quarter, before Andrew Allen got EV back in the game with a three-yard rush. The hosts were able to run out the clock at the end, though, as Duke shifted into the backfield and ground out two important first downs.

WV's defense limited the visitors to just 85 rushing yards on the night.
