Summary

Brandon Hausladen scored the winning touchdown, and Timberlake held off visiting Frenchtown (Mont.) 20-14 on Saturday in the season opener.

The Tigers got off to a bright start, as Caleb Munson punched the ball in from a yard out in the second quarter. Dan Smith added another tally on an 11-yard strike from Ryan Starr to give the hosts a 14-0 lead at halftime.

The Broncs rallied after the intermission, as quarterback Zach Palmer twice hooked up with Jacob Price to tie the game in the fourth.

That set the stage for the winning possession, as Starr and Hausladen worked the option to perfection on a 70-yard drive before Hausladen plunged in from two yards out with two minutes remaining. The stingy Timberlake defense then produced another stop to seal the win.
