Summary

Devonte Gorman helped East Valley rally past visiting West Valley 3-1 Thursday in a District 7 2A playoff match.

The Eagles grabbed the lead in the 17th minute when Kual Nyiang scored, but the Knights quickly answered when Gorman set up Tristan Gresch for the equalizer two minutes later. The Knights pressed on, but struggled to get past Zach Babinski, who was strong in net with eight saves for WV.

The hosts finally grabbed the lead in the second half, as Gorman scored twice in quick succession early in the period.

East Valley moves on to the district semifinal on Saturday at Cheney, while West Valley is eliminated.
