Summary

After battling through seven rounds in a shootout, Max Thompson hit the game-winner in the eighth round as Ferris defeated Chiawana 2-1. Filipp Churkin had three clutch saves in the shootout to extend the match for the Saxons.

Callan Martin opened scoring in the first half in the 23rd minute, volleying in a cross from Barrett Freshler from about 12 yards out. Jose Rodriguez evened the score with a penalty kick in the 36th minute.

With the victory, Ferris advances to play Lewis and Clark in a loser-out matchup Thursday at Albi Stadium.
