Summary

The Mead Panthers (27-2) swept the Tahoma Bears 3-0 in a State 4A volleyball opener Friday at Toyota Center in Kennewick. Mead trailed briefly early in the first game and outscored the Bears 7-4 down the stretch in the second game. Tahoma led the final game 17-15 before a 4-0 streak put the Panthers in control. Mead will meet Curtis (26-1) at 8:15 tonight in the quarterfinals.
