Summary

Coeur d'Alene built a double-digit lead in the first half and went on to defeat Genesis Prep 59-45 in a nonleague boys basketball game between 5A and 1A schools.

The Vikings' defensive pressure held GP to 14 points in the first half. In the second half, GP picked up its shooting and nearly matched CdA point for point. Junior Williams led GP with 20 points. He made four 3-pointers.

But CdA's tandem of Joey Naccarato, a guard/wing, and guard Sam Matheson kept the Vikings out front. Naccarato scored a game-high 21 points and Matheson, who was 3 for 6 on 3-pointers, scored 15.
