Payton Erickson and hit a home run to lead off the game, pitcher Kylie Sweeney struck out nine batters and added a seventh-inning homer for insurance as Deer Park overcame seven errors and held on for an 8-6 win over Seattle Christian in the first round of the State 1A softball tournament on Friday.

Sweeney's two-run shot in the last inning proved to be the difference for the Stags, allowing them to take a five-run lead to the final inning.
