What happened: East Valley used a balanced, aggressive attack to score two goals in the first nine minutes and jump out to a 3-0 halftime lead, before slamming the door shut in the second half with five second-half goals against Orting in a Washington State 2A opener at Gonzaga Prep on Saturday. Seven Knights notched goals in the match, with Shannon Frucci leading the way with two goals and an assist.

Turning point: Being able to find the back of the net early allowed East Valley to get it rolling and break the game open.
