Summary

Kenedy Cartwright scored 21 points and visiting Chiawana defeated Gonzaga Prep (15-9) 62-57 on Saturday in the 4A subregional second place game.

Chiawanna advances to regionals next weekend while the Bullpups season closes.

Chiawana led 29-21 at intermission and pushed the lead to 12 by the end of the third quarter, led by Cartwright and Kenzie Cordray. Cordray finished with 17 points.

Gonzaga Prep cut into the deficit with a 14-7 fourth-quarter run, but couldn’t make up the difference. Olivia Mayer led G-Prep with 25 points with nine boards.
