Summary

What happened: Koa Pancho scored 21 points to lead the ninth-ranked Grizzlies (11-6, 8-3) over the visiting Cardinals (12-5, 8-3), ranked 10th in the state, 54-52 on Tuesday.

Pancho finished the night shooting 8 of 16 from the field with eight rebounds. Danny Bradbury scored 16 points with nine rebounds and five steals for Newport.

Newport now moves into a tie with Medical Lake for second place in the Northeast A standings, three games behind undefeated Freeman.

Trailing 47-31 after three quarters, the Cardinals went on a 21-7 run in the fourth, finishing two points shy of tying the game.
