Summary

Chase Burnham netted 22 points, and Liberty held off Napavine 68-60 to win a State 2B quarterfinal Thursday at the Spokane Arena.

Justin Jeske added 18 points for the Lancers (20-6), who took the lead for good with an 8-0 run to break a 40-all tie in the third quarter.

Jordan Purvis notched 21 points for the Tigers (23-3), including eight in a row in the fourth quarter to get Napavine within four. But Burnham and Isaac Ottmar each made a pair of free throws in the final minute to wrap up the win.

Brandon Holling collected 15 rebounds for Liberty, and Tyler Haas tallied 14 points and six assists. Peyton Stanley scored 16 for Napavine and Wyatt Stanley grabbed 11 boards. The Lancers will play the Life Christian Academy in the semis, while the Tigers will play Toledo in a consolation matchup.
