Dakota Patchen netted 24 points, and Colton claimed third place in the State 1B tournament with a 72-41 win Saturday over Sunnyside Christian at the Spokane Arena.
Patchen stroked seven 3-pointers to set the 1B single-tournament record with 16 makes as the eight-time defending champion Wildcats (23-3) bounced back from Friday's loss to Almira/Coulee-Hartline. Colton began the game on a 12-0 run and never looked back. Abby Kelly added 11 points, while Georgia Meyer recorded 12 rebounds and Jordyn Moehrle dished out six assists.
Krista Den Hoed led the fifth-place Crusaders (23-5) with 15 points.
