Brock Ravet scored 46 points on 24 shots and Kittitas withstood a furious Liberty fourth-quarter comeback to hang on for a 72-69 win and claim the state 2B championship.
The Coyotes (24-0) led the Lancers (21-7) by as many as 15 points with 3:33 remaining. But the Lancers wouldn't let up, embarking on a 22-7 run in the next 2 minutes, 32 seconds. James Heer's 3-pointer with 1:01 left cut Kittitas' lead to three, 68-65.
Liberty pulled within one point after Thomas Redding drilled a pair of free throws. Coyotes' guard Bailey Gibson connected on a runner off the glass with 25 seconds to extend the lead back to three.
Tyler Haas and Gibson exchanged free throws, and Haas' 3-point attempt to tie the game with two seconds left was off the mark.
Ravet went 15-of-24 from the field and 5-of-9 from 3-point range. Gibson added 10 points.
Chase Burnham led the Lancers with 27 points. Haas finished with 18 points.
