What happened: Gavin Luna converted a four-point play with 1.1 seconds left in the Idaho 3A District I-II Championship to give the Wildcats (9-13) a one-point win over the Tigers (8-14). Luna was fouled while shooting a three-point basket to tie the game and he hit the game-winning free throw to crown Kellogg as district champ. Luna finished with 14 points. Chase Gardom led Timberlake with 14 points and Jacob James added 12. Kellogg advances to state next weekend in Meridian. Timberlake faces Bonners Ferry at home on Saturday in the district second-place game for a berth to state.
