What happened: Shawn Verduiro walked, scoring Houston Smith in the bottom of the ninth inning. Andrew Olson added insurance runs with a 2-run single and the Saxons (2-0) defeated the visiting Bulldogs (0-2) in Game 1 of a nonleague doubleheader on Thursday.
