What happened: Rilyn Ripke went 2 for 4 with a triple, double, one run and the top-seeded Scotties (20-3) defeated the visiting 16th-seeded Wolverines (13-8) in a State 2B first round game at the Gateway Sports Complex in Yakima on Friday. Ary Gunwall went 3 for 3 with a home run, double, three RBIs and two stolen bases for Friday Harbor. Freeman will face ninth-seeded Kittitas in a quarterfinal at 5:00 p.m.
