What happened: The second-seeded Lions (12-5) defeated the visiting seventh-seeded Highlanders (5-11) in the District 6 3A tournament opening round on Tuesday. Brynn Hooper had 13 kills, two aces and 16 digs for Shadle Park. Kennewick will host third-seeded Mt. Spokane in a District 6 3A semifinal match while Shadle Park faces fourth-seeded Hermiston in a loser-out match, each on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
