Central Valley (23-8) opened its second state appearance in school history with a sweep of the Bulldogs. The seventh-ranked Bears will meet second-ranked Newport (Belleuve) at 5:15 tonight in the quarterfinals.

University came away from the Anacortes Varsity Tournament as champions with it's defeat over Mt. Vernon 25-20, 25-15 on Saturday. The Titans were led by Sydney Schlect and Brooklynn Tacke's six kills apiece, with Schlect adding seven digs and Tacke blocking three shots for U-High in the championship victory.
