Newport earned the 3-seed in District VII 1A to move on to regional play as the Grizzlies toughed it out against Riverside 17-25, 25-22, 25-21, 13-25, 15-8. Hadley Stratton racked up 10 kills, four aces, nine digs and three blocks to lead the Grizzlies into regional play. The Rams' Nina Abdanur finished with 24 assists and 21 digs to lead the Rams in the loser out match.

Hadley Stratton sent home nine kills and had four aces and a block to lead Newport to the 25-15, 25-9, 25-15 win over Kettle Falls in Northeast A postseason play on Tuesday. With the win the Grizzlies faced Freeman for a chance to play in the District Championship match on Saturday. Kayla Berg finished with five kills and seven blocks in the loss for the Bulldogs.
