What happened: Maverick Sanders scored 24 points with three 3-pointers and the Wildcats (22-1) beat the visiting Vikings (14-9) in a 3A state opening round game on Saturday. Miles Gurske led Rainier Beach with 21 points and three 4-pointers. Mt. Spokane will face the winner of Bellevue/Timberline on Thursday.
