What happened: Jordyn Jeske hit two triples, struck out 16 batters and the fifth-seeded Lancers (21-3) defeated the visiting 12th-seeded Mountaineers (13-11) in a State 2B first round game at the Gateway Sports Complex in Yakima on Friday. Lillie Unruh went 3 for 4 with a double, an RBI and one run for Liberty. Ryleigh Cruse led Rainier with two hits. Liberty will face fourth-seeded Napavine in a quarterfinal at 5:00 p.m.
