St. Maries' four first inning runs was the difference in the Lumberjack's 6-2 win over Firth in the 2A state quarterfinals at Orofino High School on Thursday. Bryant Asbury struckout nine batters on the mound, earning the win, and was 2-for-4 at the plate. The Lumberjacks play at 3:30 tomorrow at Orofino against defending state champions Napa Christian in the state semifinals

Grangeville poured on 11 runs in the bottom of the sixth inning, turning a one-run deficit into a 10-point lead in the Bulldogs' 15-5 shellacking over St. Maries in the first game on a Central Idaho League doubleheader on Saturday.
