Spokane firefighters vent the roof of a rental house that was severely damaged by an interior blaze Thursday afternoon Oct. 27, 2011. The house at 1711 N. Adams, was fully involved as firefighters arrived on the scene. No one was home at the time of the fire, which is under investigation.

“It is a true freshwater cod,” said Corie Laude, a senior fisheries technician for the Idaho Department of Fish and Game on the Kootenai River near Bonners Ferry on Thursday, Jan. 20, 2011. She is involved in the effort to save the burbot, a freshwater cod. The burbot was overfished in the 1900’s and was negatively affected by the Libby Dam.
