Shock search for quarterback to fill injuries

The Spokane Shock were 30 minutes into practice Tuesday when quarterback Bill Stull approached head coach Rob Keefe with a smile on his face. Stull, still on crutches after injuring his left knee in his first start Saturday, informed the coach that MRI results indicated he didn’t suffer a serious injury. Stull has a bone bruise and slight sprain. Recovery time can vary, but Stull isn’t expected to go on injured reserve, a minimum four-week stint. He’s not expected to play Friday against Tampa Bay.

Shock looking for help with regular QBs injured

Spokane doesn’t know the extent of injuries to Bill Stull’s left knee and Kyle Rowley’s right (throwing) shoulder, but the Arena Football League team is exploring other quarterback options. The Shock are bringing in three quarterbacks for tryouts: Casey Hansen, who backed up Nick Davila in Spokane’s 2009 arenafootball2 championship season; former Texas Tech quarterback Steven Sheffield; and Josh Powell, who played at Hard-ing University.

Shock upend division-leading Dallas Vigilantes

The Spokane Shock have no idea who will be the starting quarterback for Friday’s home game against Tampa Bay, but they’ll worry about that over the next few days. For now, they’re content to savor another victory over a division leader, a crisp performance that generated a 71-49 Arena Football League win over Dallas in front of 9,368 Saturday at the Arena. Spokane, despite losing quarterbacks Bill Stull and Kyle Rowley to injuries, improved to 4-5 while Central Division-leading Dallas dropped to 6-3.

Shock may be forced to change their changes

Well, maybe you could call this a jump start. That’s probably not what Bill Stull would call it. Nor Kyle Rowley. But the scoreboard suggested as much. As long as the entire engine doesn’t have to be rebuilt this week.
