Competition Eats Into Tidyman’s Sales

A beaten but not whipped Tidyman's Warehouse Foods held its annual meeting Monday, outlining an aggressive campaign to regain control of business lost to intense competition. For the past three years, Tidyman's sales have declined, said John Maxwell, chief executive officer of the Greenacres-based company.

Housing Market Weakens

Spokane's housing market is struggling to keep pace with last year in the race for homes sold. A weak showing in October didn't help. Although the amount of money generated by home sales still beats 1995 by about $8 million, eight fewer homes were sold so far this year than last. The number of homes sold topped 1995 until last month.

Eugster Claims Plan Violates State Laws

A Spokane attorney claims the city is violating state environmental laws in its planned purchase of a downtown parking garage. Stephen Eugster sent a letter to Spokane officials this week outlining his problems with the city's plan to buy the River Park Square garage.
