The Lookout Pass Ski Area is hoping its upgrades this summer will excite downhill skiers next winter. The Montana-Idaho border ski area will add 40 acres and another run to its current 100 skiable acres. Clearing of trees and grading hill side surfaces will begin next month surrounding a 1,000-foot-long half pipe for snowboarders and skiers. All improvements are to be ready by November. The project is part of Lookout Recreation Inc.'s 15-year plan to pull in more than 50,000 skiers a year.

Two Coeur d'Alene radio stations have been sold to a Spokane broadcasting company. The stations, owned by the Todd Hagadone, of Beverly Hills, Calif., son of newspaper and hotel owner Duane Hagadone, will be sold to Spokane's KXLY Broadcasting Group.

Shareholders of Coeur d'Alene Mines Corp. have filed a class action lawsuit alleging the company violated federal security laws during 1995 and 1996. The lawsuit filed Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Denver claims the Coeur d'Alene mining company artificially inflated prices and misled stockholders about activity at its Golden Cross mine in New Zealand and other mines. The suit names only one plaintiff, Queen Uno Limited Partnership of Chicago.
