The Washington Court of Appeals rejected a neighborhood association's attempt to keep a large grocery store out of Indian Trail. It was the third loss for the neighborhood residents. The Spokane hearing examiner and a Superior Court judge both ruled against them earlier.

Spokane police stopped a 14-year-old boy riding a stolen bicycle Monday night and found him in possession of several tools common to burglars. The boy was riding the bike along Monroe Street near Augusta when officers saw him, said Dick Cottam, police spokesman. Officers recognized the bike as one reported stolen earlier in the evening, Cottam said. The boy tried to flee, but soon was caught.
