Warrant Issued For Spokane Murder Suspect

From Staff

Spokane police have issued an arrest warrant for a man they believe murdered two people at a grocery store parking lot in Browne’s Addition last winter.

The suspect’s name is not being released.

A hearing to keep the warrant secret is scheduled this morning in District Court.

Police said the nationwide warrant must remain out of the public’s eye to protect witnesses and ensure the suspect does not get away. Detectives do not know where the man is living now.

The case involves the deaths of Eloise Patrick and Larry Eaves, both 37. They were found shot to death in Patrick’s white Buick on Feb. 19. The car was parked on South Ash, near the Safeway in Browne’s Addition.

Eaves was from Seattle, a convicted rapist and thief who was shot once in 1982 in what police there called “a drug deal gone bad.” He had spent most of the last 11 years in prison.

Patrick’s four children blamed their mother’s death on Eaves and drugs. Police, however, have released little information and offered no firm motive on the killings.

Judge Richard Richard will decide at 11 a.m. whether to approve the request by police to seal the warrant. The judge already has sealed a search warrant pertaining to the case two times in District Court.
