Museum’S Art Curator Hands In Resignation
Beth Sellars, a tireless supporter of contemporary arts, has resigned after 12 years as art curator for the Cheney Cowles Museum.
Future changes planned for the museum and a desire to live in a less isolated art region prompted her recent resignation, said Glenn Mason, museum director.
“She felt it was time for her to move on,” Mason said. “She will be sorely missed.”
Sellars’ exhibition schedule and ability to attract artists to Spokane has been widely recognized, Mason said.
The museum’s small size forced her to be a “one-person show,” doing everything from changing light bulbs to driving artists around to designing exhibits, he said.
No date has been set for Sellars’ departure.
