Shooting Suspects Waive Hearings

Three juvenile boys arrested in the fatal shooting of a 7-year-old girl waived their rights to an initial court appearance Monday and remained in custody, the King County prosecutor’s office said.

The prosecutor’s office has until Wednesday to determine what charges should be filed against the two 15-year-olds and a 14-year-old, spokesman Dan Donohoe said.

By waiving their hearings, the three teens declined to contest their detention, Donohoe said.

The three were arrested during the weekend in Thursday’s death of Angelica Robinson-Hughes, who was shot as she slept in a south Seattle boarding house with her mother.

Police said the slaying occurred when a Honda automobile carrying three people pulled up to the house early Thursday, and two of the passengers walked through the house, shooting as they went.

One 15-year-old was arrested Friday night after a patrol officer stopped a car that had been reported stolen and matched the description of the car at the house, police said. The second 15-year-old was arrested early Saturday at his home, and the 14-year-old was picked up Saturday evening.
