Doughboy Dealer Sentenced

From Staff Reports

A Tri-Cities drug distributor was sentenced to 10 years in prison Thursday, a day after his cousin was given the same sentence.

Raymond Armijo, 43, of Kennewick, was sentenced to the minimum mandatory term by U.S. District Court Judge Fred Van Sickle.

He pleaded guilty in November to conspiracy to distribute more than five kilograms of cocaine.

He was among the defendants convicted as part of the Operation Doughboy case.

His cousin, Victor Armijo, was incorrectly identified in a story in Thursday’s editions of The Spokesman-Review. Victor Armijo, 32, of Pasco, was sentenced to 10 years Wednesday by Van Sickle.

Victor Armijo first must serve a five-year federal prison term for a 1990 conviction for involvement in another cocaine distribution case.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Tom Rice said Raymond Armijo worked for Victor Armijo, picking up and delivering cocaine.
