Deden Gets Invite

Missoula native Karen Deden has been invited to try out for the U.S. senior national women’s basketball team, which will also be the 1996 U.S. Olympic team.

Deden, a 6-foot-4 center, earned All-America honors at Missoula Sentinel.

She is one of 27 players invited to the tryouts May 18-24 in Colorado Springs, Colo. Also on the list are 1995 women’s player of the year Rebecca Lobo of Connecticut and 1993 player of the year Cheryl Swoopes of Texas Tech.
