Girl Hit By Car Dies Of Head Injuries
A 5-year-old Seattle girl hit by a car Saturday in north Spokane died early Sunday.
Melissa Taylor was hit at 6:25 p.m. when she and her 6-year-old cousin were trying to cross Crestline near Bridgeport, police said.
She was taken to Holy Family Hospital with massive head injuries. She died at 1:30 a.m. Sunday.
No charges were filed against the 25-year-old driver, whom police did not identify.
A witness told police the two girls waited and watched for cars for several minutes before Taylor tried to cross the street.
