Six Injured In Snowstorm Wreck
Two Eugene teenagers were in critical condition Sunday after a driver lost control of his sportutility truck during a mountain snowstorm and crashed head-on into a car, state police said.
The accident occurred about 7 p.m. Saturday on Highway 126 in the Cascades about a mile south of the junction with U.S. Highway 20.
Clay Agost, 14, and Benjamin Cooley, 13, were in critical condition in a Springfield hospital.
The two teens were passengers in a car driven by John Deegan, 15, of Eugene. His mother, Susan Kline, 44, and Benjamin Schuman, 15, both of Eugene, also were passengers.
Kline was in serious condition with multiple fractures. Deegan, was in fair condition with a broken leg, and Schuman was in serious but stable condition. The driver of the sport-utility truck was identified as Jeremy Botta, 18, of Bend. His passenger, Sean Sanders, 20, of Bend, was in serious condition with back injuries.
