Two Brothers Die In Mobile Home Fire

Compiled From Wire Services

Two brothers died early Sunday when their single-wide mobile home burned.

Joe James, who turned 43 on Thursday, and Paul James, 27, were sleeping when the fire broke out in their home about a half-mile north of Nespelem in Okanagon County. No one else was in the house.

“I think they were overcome by the smoke before they realized that any fire had occurred,” Colville Confederated Tribes Police Chief Jay Goss said.

He said the fire appeared to have been caused by a wood stove.
