Bicycle Fair In Park Today

From Staff And Wire Reports

A bicycle fair in Riverfront Park will be held today from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to celebrate the Oil Smart alternative of biking.

Bicycle clubs and businesses participating in this year’s Oil Smart campaign will sponsor the event in the Gondola Meadows near Spokane Falls Boulevard.

Bikers can enter the “Fix-a-Flat” repair race at noon by the Bloomsday runner sculptures, talk with Spokane Transit Authority workers about the Bikes on Buses program, ride on a tour of newly installed downtown bike racks and win prizes.

Also at noon, a bike ride to Browne’s Addition will be led by the Spokane police bike patrol. The 30-minute trip begins at 12:15 by the Bloomsday sculptures.

Participants are encouraged to bring bag lunches to the fair, which is free.
