Boise State Coach Allen Hospitalized

Boise State football coach Pokey Allen was admitted to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise on Friday after complications arose from last weekend’s extensive chemotherapy treatments.

He was listed in fair condition and was expected to remain hospitalized through the weekend.

Allen spent last weekend in the Boise hospital for a cycle of chemotherapy to treat the cancerous tissues in his right tricep.

The treatment led to a low white blood cell count and a blood infection.

Allen was diagnosed with the rare tissue cancer last December.
