Small Earthquake Rattles Clark County

A small quake was reported at 2:51 a.m. Monday near the Clark County town of La Center in southwest Washington.

Bill Steele at the University of Washington seismology lab said the quake measured 2.1. The epicenter was about eight miles deep and 21 miles southeast of Longview.

There were some reports from the area of people feeling the quake but no reports of injuries or damage.

Steele said he was surprised that anyone felt a quake that small.
