Uconn Star Honored
Connecticut’s Rebecca Lobo, already the most honored player in women’s basketball this season, received another when she was named the recipient of the Wade Trophy.
The Wade Trophy goes to a top senior player, who also demonstrates academic achievement and leadership off the court.
Lobo, a 6-foot-4 forward, led Connecticut to a 35-0 record and the school’s first national championship. She was Associated Press national player of the year and the only unanimous firstteam choice on the AP All-America team.
