Pdo Derby De-Emphasizes ‘The Kill’

The Lake Pend Oreille Idaho Club’s K&K Challenge Derby has adopted the theme of “catch and release” for its spring fishing derby May 1-7.

To promote conservation, organizers are allowing participants to enter only one rainbow for the entire derby. The club also has eliminated daily prizes. Instead, it will offer 10 prizes in the rainbow division at the end of the derby.

Anglers who catch and release a rainbow over 20 pounds will be awarded a special pin. Grand prize for the largest rainbow caught is a boat and trailer.
